Tyson + Melissa + Emmy – Fourth of July Family

I had the pleasure of taking pictures of Emmy in her cute Fourth of July outfit. This is not really the place where I planned on taking the photographs, but everything just fell into place at the right time. She was sitting quietly and the light in the room was perfect for what I wanted to capture. Emmy really held her own during these photos and was very patient with me while I took A LOT of pictures. The pictures turned out exactly like I wanted, clean and simple and just Emmy looking at the camera with her beautiful eyes.

And then it was time for family pictures! I encourage people to move away from the traditional family portrait of sitting and smiling at the camera, especially when there are little ones involved. We all must be honest, in a group setting it’s harder for the little one to focus on the camera. It’s sometimes better to just let your little one roam and enjoy. It’s off the cuff, cute and you never know what you’re going to capture. And taking a family portrait in a non-traditional place is also great too. These are pictures the family will love and cherish forever.

Melissa + Tyson: An Austin Indoor Wedding

Melissa and Tyson had a lovely intimate ceremony in Austin. The hotel was very beautiful which made the pictures so much better. I hope that I was able to provide them pictures they will love forever as their love continues to grow.

An Alabama Couple: Shelby and Norman

Shelby and Norman are just a happy couple that wanted their picture taken. It was a fun shoot that went with ease because they are so comfortable with each other. These aren’t their engagement pictures which only puts more pressure on me for when they do get engaged. Looks like I’m going to have to up the ante!

Southeast Texas Family: Fun At The Park

This are your non-traditional portraits, but are very sweet to have for years to come. Your children will really enjoy these photographs when they are older and it’s a nice brake from the smile at the camera photos.

I had fun following Clair and Thierry around as they conquered every piece of play equipment. The hardest part was getting them not to be aware of the camera. When they got into their element of playing though, it was easy for me to capture the moments.

An Austin Engagement: Melissa and Tyson

Melissa and Tyson are a fun couple and they both work with children everyday. It was only fitting that they took their engagement pictures at the park. Plus, Melissa and Tyson fell in love on a playground at work so it’s nice to go back to a similar place to capture their first pictures of the rest of their life.

The best thing about this couple is they don’t take themselves too seriously and weren’t afraid to act like kids again for their pictures. There were some hilarious moments during this photo shoot and some sweet moments too.

A Mississippi Wedding: Mandie and Justin

It was a pleasure and a honor to photograph Mandie and Justin for their big day. But it was also terrifying. Weddings usually aren’t a problem for me but this wasn’t a normal wedding for me. I played photographer and guest during the wedding and I did put a lot of pressure on myself to have some great pictures. Mandie is my best friend and I wanted her to be satisfied (really more than satisfied) with her wedding pictures. I didn’t want her to think she made a mistake by asking me to take their pictures. There may have been a hurricane moving in closer outside, but there was definitely one in my stomach too. The wedding was beautiful and the pictures came out great!
